We are delighted to offer FREE shipping to the majority of locations within the United States. It’s our way of making your shopping experience even more enjoyable.
Nevertheless, there are a few exceptions that we’d like to bring to your attention. Shipments bound for Alaska, Hawaii, Canada, and certain remote mainland U.S. areas are subject to different shipping arrangements. These cases will be addressed individually to ensure the best solution for you.
Our deliveries are handled curbside, employing reputable and reliable carriers who make every effort to get as close as possible to your designated building location. Typically, our third-party carriers employ pickup trucks, cargo vans with flatbed trailers, or 26-foot straight trucks. While most carriers are capable of unloading the entire pallet at once, occasionally they might opt to open the pallet, manually unload its contents, and then carefully restack them.
Upon receiving your delivery, it’s advisable to promptly initiate the assembly process. Although all components are meticulously kiln-dried at the factory, it’s worth noting that some warping and twisting might occur after the parts are unpacked. While these parts are still usable, working with a fresh kit tends to be more convenient.
During the delivery acceptance, kindly conduct a thorough examination to ensure there are no indications of transport-related damages. Should you come across any such damages to the parts, please promptly notify us and capture photographs for reference.
To ensure a smooth and efficient sauna installation process, we recommend taking the following steps:
1. Prepare Your Tools:
Gather the necessary tools to streamline the assembly process.
Here’s a list of tools you’ll need:
2. Sauna Base Preparation:
Creating a solid foundation is vital for a successful assembly.
Various options are available for sauna bases, such as concrete slabs, pressure-treated deck frames, pressure-treated timbers, and concrete blocks. Regardless of the foundation type chosen, it’s crucial that it is:
Note: Some deck frames or concrete slabs may have slopes for drainage. A slight slope is manageable, but shimming might be necessary to achieve a level sauna.
3. Assembly:
We’ve accumulated years of experience in building saunas, and we’re here to support you throughout the process.
Our team is readily available to assist, even during evenings or weekends when most of our DIY customers are at work. Don’t hesitate to call or text us with any questions.
Take the time to methodically sort and organize the components before assembly. Spending an extra hour or two on this step can save you substantial time later on.
Although many parts come pre-cut and ready for installation, some cutting may be required. Our sauna kits are designed to be accessible to individuals of various skill levels, so don’t worry if you’re not an experienced woodworker.
Assembly typically takes 2-3 days for small to mid-sized saunas.
Feel confident as you embark on your sauna installation journey. Your careful preparation and attention to detail will lead to a rewarding and relaxing sauna experience.
Once the assembly is complete, it’s highly advisable to ensure thorough finishing both on the interior and exterior of the sauna structure.
Pay special attention to the following areas.
Interior Finishing:
To safeguard against humidity and dirt and enhance the sauna’s longevity, it’s crucial to treat the following components with a specialized substance before initial use:
Consider applying this treatment once or twice a year thereafter. For the hot room, we suggest utilizing organic sauna wood oil or bee wax. In the changing room, you have the flexibility to employ any water-based finish that suits your preference.
Exterior Treatment:
The exterior surfaces of the sauna warrant attention as well. These surfaces can be effectively treated with any exterior paint or sealer of your choice. This treatment helps shield the sauna from external elements and enhances its overall durability.
By meticulously addressing the interior and exterior finishing, you ensure that your sauna remains well-protected, aesthetically pleasing, and conducive to a truly invigorating sauna experience.
When using the sauna for the first time, it’s essential to maintain constant supervision and keep the sauna doors open. During the initial heating, the sauna stove emits a distinct odor.
For detailed information, refer to the user manual of the sauna stove.
The steam room should not exceed a maximum temperature of 212°F (100°C). Overheating can occur if this limit is exceeded. Regularly monitor the sauna heater and its surroundings for any signs of overheating while heating the sauna.
For proper maintenance of the sauna heater, consult the sauna stove user manual.
After each sauna session, we recommend the following steps to ensure the longevity of your sauna:
1. Sauna Drying: To prevent excess moisture, leave the sauna stove warm, keep the doors open, and raise the footrests. This aids in the internal drying process. To eliminate standing water, use a floor scraper to direct water towards the drain, reducing humidity-related damage.
2. Cleaning: Under normal conditions, occasional light cleaning of the floor and benches is recommended. Use a mild solution of liquid cleaner and water to remove any build-up and perspiration stains from the wood. Refrain from using ammonia or harsh cleaners.
3. Maintenance of Accessories: Keep the bucket and ladle clean by washing them regularly and storing them upside down. Note that slight cracks and splits might develop in the ladle and bucket over time.
4. Heater Rocks: Depending on usage frequency, consider replacing heater rocks every 4-6 years.
5. Stainless Steel Bands: If your sauna features stainless steel bands, adjust them to accommodate seasonal changes in wood shrinkage and swelling.
6. Door Adjustments: If you encounter issues with the sauna door, follow these steps:
Exterior Door: Lift the exterior door off the hinges to regulate them. If necessary, remove the door trims and unscrew the doorframe screws beneath them to alleviate pressure. Widening the door opening might be necessary, followed by re-tightening the screws and reinstalling the trims and door.
Interior Door: Regulate the interior door using the stopper and hinges. If issues persist, follow the same process as above to release pressure.
7. Snow Removal: Prevent damage from snow accumulation by regularly clearing the sauna roof. Be cautious not to damage the roof covering during snow removal.
Following these guidelines will ensure the safe and efficient use of your sauna. For any further questions or assistance, don’t hesitate to contact our support team. Your sauna experience is our priority.
